Typical Day
My day in corporate bond origination starts at 7:30am with our morning conference call with the U.S. and European desks. Next we have a trade floor huddle for the fixed income team to catch up on overnight news and assess how the market has opened on the day.
The rest of my day varies. The trade floor environment is very fast paced and things can change from moment to moment. I work closely with syndication, trading, and sales to keep a pulse on the market.
I spend time preparing client presentations, pricing transactions, and generally supporting the senior marketers with whatever comes up. I often have opportunities to get involved in client coverage, attending presentations and investor events as well as entertaining clients.
The buzz on the trade floor starts to wind down after 5pm, but I generally stay for an hour or two to catch up on work while things are calm and quiet and I can start to prepare for another exciting day...
