Career Path
I joined Scotia Capital in 2002, after completing my MBA. I started in the Global Trading Rotation Program, where I rotated through numerous desks on the trading floors in both Toronto and London. The rotation program provided a great opportunity to learn about the trading business, allowed me to discover roles that fit my interests and skill sets, and led to countless valuable contacts that have assisted me in succeeding in my current position.
Prior to Scotia, I was a technical consultant in the Forestry industry. My experience was unique, and not directly mappable to Finance. Scotia Capital’s ability to recognize the value of diversity was an integral part of my decision to join the team. I chose Global Trading for a few reasons: the dynamic nature of the work, the fast pace, the ability to work with and learn from high caliber individuals (at all levels of the organization), and the overall feel of the floor. Scotia’s trade floor is a fun place to work.
