Career Path
I have been a member of the Scotiabank team for the past ten years, working throughout my undergraduate career at Scotia's Toronto Central Accounting Unit in the Loans and Investments Departments. During graduate school, I spent a summer term working at Scotia's Global Risk Management Department, as a credit analyst.
There are many reasons why I chose Scotia Capital. Professionally, Scotia Capital has an international presence with many areas of expertise, providing tremendous opportunities for cross training in other departments, professional development and career advancement. Personally, I have been a member of the Scotia team for many years, and have interacted with many high caliber individuals in both a professional and social setting.
Within Scotia Capital, I chose Corporate Banking for many reasons:
- the relationship management aspect, which includes being exposed to dealing with CEOs and CFOs of large corporations;
- the marketing aspect, which includes maintaining existing client relationships and researching and marketing new clients;
- the higher level of corporate finance, which includes conducting research, financial analysis, financial modeling and structuring loans; and
- the culture and people - throughout my career at Scotia, I have met and worked with many dynamic individuals, and have grown both as an individual, and as a member of a team.
