Career Path
I graduated from the University of Alberta in December 2005 after completing my Undergraduate Cooperative Education Degree in Finance. Through the Co-op program I had the chance to work in London, UK for 8 months – sparking my interest in Investment Banking. My last 4 months of Co-op work were spent at Scotia Capital, Calgary, where I was offered permanent employment post-graduation. The Co-op program was a great fit and helped me pinpoint relevant job opportunities, improve my marketability and experience life abroad. I have now been with Scotia Capital since February 2006 and completed Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in December 2006.
Over the past few years, I have formed many friendships throughout Scotia Capital. Working for an Investment Bank means spending lots of time in the office – making it important to enjoy the company of those beside you. I truly believe Scotia Capital employs some of the most talented, enthusiastic and diverse people in the industry.
It has been extremely rewarding to learn from such a dynamic group of individuals. This experience has provided me with a great platform for future career goals.
