Career Path

I completed my Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Toronto with Specialization in Finance and Economics. I chose to pursue Global Trading due to the dynamic environment. As a continually evolving industry it consistently presents new challenges and learning experiences.

For the two summers before my graduate year I worked as an intern for Scotia Capital. During my first summer I worked as a marketer on the retail Money Market desk. I returned to the Money Market desk for my second summer, but I was also given the opportunity to work on the US Dollar Funding Desk managing the Short Term Funding book.

It was two summers at Scotia Capital that convinced me that it was the ideal place to work. My summer experiences confirmed that Scotia was an environment where I would be judged based on my abilities and, as a junior person, allowed to progress as quickly as my skills warranted. I was also impressed with the quality of people that I worked with. While my coworkers were very professional, they were also exceptionally approachable and willing to share their knowledge. It was a great learning environment.
