Position Description:
The Summer Associate program is designed to provide MBA students with exposure to a broad range of investment banking (IB) and mergers and acquisition (M&A) assignments and will include rotations in each of the IB, M&A and Equity Capital Markets groups.
Associates will be exposed to various corporate finance activities including underwriting equity and equity-related securities and a full range of mergers and acquisitions financial advisory services including those related to acquisitions and divestitures of public and private companies, takeover defense strategies and planning, as well as restructurings, recapitalizations and workouts. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Completing complex financial analyses such as: market trading analysis, comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis, discounted cash flow analysis and pro-forma financial modeling;
- Collecting company and industry specific research to support financial valuations; and
- Preparing client pitches and/or presentations to management and board of directors.
The IB and M&A groups work in small project-based teams. These small teams provide Associates with opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and to accept increased responsibility at a relatively early stage in their career.
Ideal Associate candidates will:
- Be in the graduating class of 2011
- Have a proven record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities
- Have a good understanding of quantitative analyses, financial concepts, accounting and computer modeling
- Possess a strong sense of personal integrity and teamwork, display a high level of energy, have a keen desire to learn new concepts and demonstrate the ability to quickly adapt to new situations.
