Equity Research Associate

 

Position Highlights

The role of the Research Associate is fast-paced, deadline-driven, and varies daily.

Research Associates form an integral part of the Equity Research Department by providing crucial assistance and support to one or more Analysts. In this role, the Research Associate gains an in-depth knowledge of the function of Equity Research and its key relationship with other areas of the firm. In addition, Associates gain a vast amount of knowledge about the companies in the sector they cover, get familiar with industry trends and build a solid foundation that is invaluable in the field of finance.

Requirements:

  • MBA degree to be completed by Spring 2008
  • A proven track record of outstanding achievement at the graduate level
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course
  • Applicants must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and have solid accounting, analytical, and writing skills
  • Experience in the financial industry and/or in the specific industry covered by the analyst is an asset
  • Enrollment in or completion of the CFA is an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating and analyzing companies
  • Assisting in the generation of morning comments and in-depth research reports
  • Maintaining industry databases and specific company spreadsheets
  • Researching companies and industries; and answering enquiries concerning analysts' views.
